The Embassy of Finland serves and represents Finnish society as a whole - state administration, business and other communities and individual citizens - by establishing extended relations and contacts with various officials in the fellow EU Member State.
The Embassy's task is to give information about Finland's positions and aims and to seek support to them, to promote Finnish culture and art, and to disseminate information about Finland both in the capital and the regions.
The Embassy follows the political and economic developments in Slovenia, tries to find cooperation opportunities and informs the competent Finnish authorities about them.
Visits of political and government officials offer the best information channels. The Embassy promotes and enhances visits through coordination between the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, sectoral ministries and respective Slovenian authorities.
Promotion of export and internalisation is mainly covered by the Vienna Trade Center of Finpro, with the support of the Embassy.
The Embassy seeks publicity for its functions in the Slovenian and Finnish media. The general awareness of Finland and the image of Finland as a companion have their role also in trade and export promotion. One of the essential duties of the Embassy is to present its functions to groups arriving in Ljubljana from Finland.
